John is a Consultant who specialises in contentious construction work. He advises on a whole range of construction issues including matters involving delay, loss and expense, defective works, professional negligence and non-payment. John acts for main contractors, sub-contractors, developers and government agencies. He has experience in all forms of construction agreements and is familiar with a wide range of dispute resolution methods including ADR, litigation and all forms of arbitration.



​Career
John is qualified as a solicitor in both England and the Republic of Ireland. He was previously a partner in the Dublin office of Beale and Co and the specialist construction practice of Shadbolt and Co.

Before becoming a lawyer John practised as a quantity surveyor in the construction industry. He is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Building. John holds first degrees in both Quantity Surveying and Law and also holds a Diploma in Construction.
